Feet lined up perfectly to the edges of the white line of the beginners mark.
Finish line like a lost island on the map.
Numb to the clarity validation shines and the promises of the future.
Switches in the white walls of my head ON all night.
Affirmations, dreams, manifestations….tools to the gym in the middle floor of my mind.
Top floor door in my mind locked until I suffer more, cry more, and surrender more.
Ears absorb the vibrations and tones coming from the wireless headphones while the classic man in me hopes to come face to face to a familiar feeling that comes with knowing it all, permanence, certainty.
To know I just began,
To know I’m in the middle,
To know the race is finished.
Like when hungry kids see candy, I distract the naive spaces that suppress my consciousness and are filled with unknown question marks.
I fill these spaces with 40 hour work weeks and the dedication of an athlete as I hold boulders while walking up hills to give me purpose.
Lessons the size of crumbs are learned the way students comprehend a math book in elementary school.
Stepping stones keeping my lukewarm heart firm and my tireless soul steadfast for a moment the size of the sun.
Speaking to myself like a salesman as I persuade the achiever in me this is what needs to be done as I prepare myself for uncertainty.
My writing consists of my journey through professional baseball, health and wellness, career transitioning, life coaching, poetry, self-development, and self-growth.⚾️🍇📝🚀
